Today was one of my WORSE behavior days. But I am cool with that. Yes there were throwing papers, arguing, crumpling up my college spotlight brochures, emasculating my human anatomy doll model, calling out, fighting...
I have read their thoughts. I have had them write me personal letters about what I can do to help each of them reach their goal in life. They all responded and wrote: keep me on task" "keep class quiet" "cover lots of things" "do labs"
They know what it means to be successful. The fact that they are misbehaving just means I need to do more as their teacher to show them how to get there. So in the usual no nonsense approach this behavior was greeted by immediate bouncing from class, bookwork for everyone, live oral quizzes, LIVE parent phone calls, and extra homework.
Oh yeah they were pissed. Serves them right. You said you wanted to have a quiet on task class. Well this is how you get there kiddos.
